We thought we'd share three pictures of our flat so you can see where we are living. The upper left picture is our study/3rd bedroom, which is at the front of the flat. It is the multi-purpose room which will mainly be used to dry our laundry. The washing machine, which is in the kitchen, can dry clothes, but apparently doesn't really dry them. So it is quicker to lay them out to dry. We are getting used to "crunchy" clothes! The washing maching holds about 1/3 to 1/2 of what I am used to and it takes twice as long - so I'll be doing laundry more often I think! The picture with Sean in it is our living room, which is also at the front of the flat. Then there is a long hallway, with our bedroom, bathroom and Sean's room off of it. Then the kitchen (above) is at the back. We do have a dishwasher, which is so great! You can't really see it from this picture, but there is a lawn bowling green right behind us. So we have beautifully manicured lawn behind us that we can't use...bummer! But there is a great park 2 blocks away. The caretaker, Morris, comes around every morning to pick up the garbage that we leave in the hallway. He looks so stereotypically English I can't believe it! So far everyone associated with the flat has been great - especially our landlandy Gini. She has been really helpful - orientating us to the flat and the neighborhood, showing us how to run things, where to buy things, etc. We are forever grateful to her!
Ta Ta!
