Princess Diana Memorial Park

On Sunday we took my parents to the Princess Diana Playground in Kensington Gardens. They didn't want to deal with the crowds at the London Eye, so we thought this would be a good option...until we got there and there was a line to get into the playground! We haven't been there when the weather is nice, and I guess on weekends and after school it gets so busy that they only let in a certain number of children at a time! So much for getting out of the crowds! But they sat on a bench in the sun and enjoyed being in a park. The leaves have come out, and there are lots of flowers too, so it is beautiful here now. Sean had a blast on the improved pirate ship - complete with a Jolly Roger flag! He is in the crow's nest in the photo to the left, although you can't really see him. They've also added a few other fun pieces of equipment - like some boats (photo above) and more swings, etc. I must say the British do their parks much better than we do!

Today two of the students met us at the park and played with Sean for awhile. You have to be with a child to get into the park, so they have been anxiously waiting for an opportunity to take him. He was thrilled and made them play pirate for over an hour! The weather has been so nice this week, I may have even gotten some sun! I need to find some sunscreen for Disney... we may go back to this park one last time because it is so much fun. Sean makes friends to play with every time we are there, so that makes it more exciting for all of us! Swords and shields tend to draw other little boys...
