We rented bikes while we were at Center Parc, which is something most people do because other than loading/unloading, cars are not permitted in the parc. This seems like a good mode of transportation (except for "feeling it" the next day in a place you don't want to) and usually it would be. But this is a hilly place!! (the picture is of Mike and Sean walking their bikes up a hill, a common occurance) So we ended up riding around a bit, but took the trolly to and from our cabin. Our cabin was pretty far away from the activities areas, so we could only walk in the mornings to our activities because Sean was too tired at the end of the day to walk! All the cabins are in secluded woody areas, so you kind of feel like you are the only ones in that area. It has an Itasca State Park vibe - lots of trees, streams, lakes, wildlife...but more activities. In addition to the swimming and biking, there is a high and low ropes course, mini golf (indoor and out), a lake with all types of lake activities, archery, shooting, falconery, orienteering, arts and crafts, kids entertainment, 8 restaurants (including take out and delivery), a grocery store, bowling, a night club...and more! It is a huge place. This must be a popular holiday over here because there are approximately 1000 cabins...
In the photos above, Sean was trying to pull the sword out of the stone at the King Arthur mini-golf course, and he also learned how to shoot a kids bow and arrow in a game called "flu flu golf". He did really well and the worker said he was a natural archer, so of course now all Sean wants is a bow and arrow! We also went bowling in the cool blacklight/neon bowling alley, played in several indoor and outdoor play areas, fed the ducks outside our cabin, and wandered around in the woods. A very fun holiday! Highly recommended for anyone living here for an extended time.
