Mothering Day, Museum of the Docklands

Sunday we met Nesba, her husband Steve, and Madeley for lunch. It was "Mothering Day" in England, so I will get to celebrate Mother's Day twice! Sean gave me the earrings he picked out in Venice and they match

the bracelet he already gave me.

Then we all went to the Museum of the Docklands, which is all about the shipping industry of London from Roman times until now. The picture of Sean above is in a diving bell. The one of Sean and Madeley in "people chairs" is in an outside plaza, and the other one is of them as some characters in the museum. They had a fun children's area that was hard to get Sean out of when it was time to leave. We took the Docklands Light Rail part of the way home - a driverless above ground train system.

Tonight we have our last group of students over for dinner. We've had a great time hosting them for dinner and Sean will miss having them around. We will try and have at least one more large group gathering before we all head back to the states - maybe a cruise on the Thames or dinner somewhere fun...and we'll also have to arrange a football game at Hyde Park. Sean has wanted to do this since we got here, and we haven't been able to arrange it yet.
